What Will Happen On My First Visit?
Most people, whether familiar or unfamiliar with chiropractic want to know want to expect on their first visit. You wouldn’t go to a movie without watching a trailer or getting an overview of the movie, and you probably don’t want to walk into a doctor’s office without knowing what to expect. If you’ve never been to a chiropractor before, you likely have a lot of questions and lot of ideas about what a chiropractor does. So let’s talk about what will happen on your very first visit to our office.
- Consultation
During the initial consultation, we’re going to sit down and you will have a chance to tell us about all your health problems and what your goals are about coming to our office. We want to know what you have done, what has worked and hasn’t worked and how your symptoms are affecting your life and how we can change that for the better.
- Examinations
If after learning more about your condition, and we think it is something we can help you with, we will perform an examination. We will do a detailed examination with neurological, orthopedic and chiropractic tests specific to your condition. If your condition is something that we feel we cannot help you with, we will refer you to the appropriate doctor/treatment. We will not accept patients for care that we do not believe we can help.
- X-rays of your condition/symptom(s)
If after your consultation and examination we determine that x-rays of your spine are needed, we will perform x-rays. X-rays my not be needed for every condition. X-rays will be explained before they are performed.
- Therapy
After we have done a through consultation, examination, and X-rays, we will need time to review all of the findings, develop, and analyze the X-rays. Prior to rescheduling you for the report of findings where we will explain the exam findings and x-rays we will give your some therapy to help with your symptoms.
- Report of Findings
At this time we will review your exam findings, explain your x-ray findings, how and why you are having your symptoms/conditions, what treatment to do to eliminate them, treatment recommendations, and exactly how much your care is going to be. All of your financial responsibilities, and options will be explained at this time.
